About Track Express Track Club
Track Express Track Club is a youth track and field program dedicated to developing young athletes both on and off the track. Since 1982, our program has helped athletes build speed, strength, discipline, and confidence while competing at local, regional, and national levels.
Our coaching staff is committed to teaching more than just athletics. Through training and competition, our athletes learn leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, and character that will benefit them in sports, school, and life.
Track Express proudly serves youth athletes in our community and provides opportunities for them to develop their skills, compete at a high level, and pursue future athletic and academic success.
Our History
Track Express Track Club began in 1982, when best friends Carlos Alexander and Darryl Hamilton started a summer youth track and field program called the Jaguars. Their mission was to provide opportunities for young athletes to train, compete, and grow through the sport of track and field.
Seven years later, the Jaguars joined the Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville (KLM) Boys & Girls Club. In 1995, the organization officially became Track Express Track Club, Inc., expanding the program to include high school athletes competing in summer track and field.
That same year, Coach Darryl Hamilton began coaching at Largo High School, where he helped build one of the most successful track programs in Prince George’s County. During his career, Coach Hamilton led teams to multiple state championships and helped numerous athletes earn college scholarships.
Over the years, Track Express has continued to grow and compete successfully in local, regional, and national championships, developing generations of athletes.
In 2000, the club established the Carlos Alexander Award, presented annually to the Bantam Boy and Bantam Girl Athlete of the Year in honor of the program’s co-founder.
In 2008, Coach Anthony Dozier was nominated as the Head Coach of Track Express Track Club, Inc. Under his leadership, the program continues to focus on the development of youth athletes through training, competition, and mentorship.
Track Express operates under the guidelines of USA Track & Field (USATF) and is a member of the USATF Potomac Valley Association. The club is governed by a Board of Directors and supported by a dedicated volunteer staff of coaches and parents.
